My mission is to transmit my passion and expertise of the Jacques Lecoq teachings to a new generation of theater practitioners.
I cherish playfulness and abandon while inserting rigor and specificity.
I believe in allowing for encounters between artists and my teachings. Improvisation is at the heart of how I teach. While I accompany my students to learn how to write on their feet, I push them to unlock their performance possibilites.
Each individual has a different imagination and way into their growth. I draw from a wide variety of tools without rejecting one over the other. My diverse training from The Jacques Lecoq school, my work with Pig Iron theater company and immersion in the Stanislawski method at Temple University allows for spaciousness in my approach.
I cherish the ensemble and collective creation.
I teach courses and create custom workshops for universities and acting schools, of any length and depth...
from a 3-hour exploration of body awareness for physical theater...
to a 3-week deep dive into a particular area...
to developing an ensemble or co-creating new works with a company of actors (no director required).
I teach physical theater for actors, directors, performance artists: anyone interested in a physical approach to their work.
I also serve as a consultant for directors needing to train their actors on specific styles: mime, mask work, clown, physical characters, and more.
I co-create works, as a creator and even performer. Learn more about Directing & Creation.
Over the years I have also taught physical theater to poets, painters, and architects
